Overview: Laurel Life's Community Wellness team is expanding and looking for a Psychiatrist to collaborate with Psychiatric CRNPs and over 20 outpatient therapists. The team emphasizes trauma-informed care and seeks to deliver high-quality service and patient satisfaction. The role involves psychiatric assessment and care through in-person and telehealth sessions for children, adolescents, and young adults.

Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct initial patient evaluations including detailed histories, mental status exams, diagnostic impressions, and treatment recommendations.
Diagnose psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents.
Develop and oversee treatment plans, including medication management and psycho-education for clients and their families.
Provide advocacy for clients regarding levels of care, educational needs, and referrals.
Supervise advance practice psychiatric professionals and therapists.
Ensure documentation and communication are maintained in the electronic health record system.
Participate in required trainings to stay updated on trauma-informed care practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough patient evaluations, capturing comprehensive histories and performing mental status examinations.
Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions using best practices.
Communicate treatment plans and psycho-education to clients and their supports.
Advocate for clients' needs, including education and referrals.
Prescribe medications conservatively, ensuring clients understand the risks and benefits.
Collaborate with medical assistants for routine health checks.
Oversee prescriptive authority and provide supervision for CRNPs.
Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania regulations, including child abuse clearances and criminal record checks.
Work with outpatient supervisors, team leaders, and clinicians for triage, crisis intervention, and treatment recommendations.
Complete required clinical documentation in a timely manner.
Participate in and complete mandated staff training programs.
Monitor and supervise treatment plans regularly.
Assist clients in defining goals and planning actions for personal and social development.
Utilize reference materials for diagnosing and developing treatment approaches.
Respond to client reactions and modify treatment plans as necessary.
Handle additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Skills and Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Unrestricted state medical license.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in psychiatric practice, with at least 2 years treating children/adolescents.
Willingness to follow clinic standards and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
Current DEA permit.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and de-escalate conflicts.
Educational background in human behavior, psychological research methods, and assessment/treatment of behavioral disorders.
Licensure as a Medical Doctor in Pennsylvania with board certification in psychiatry; board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred.
Medical degree (M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent) and completion of an accredited residency program.

Working Conditions: The primary work setting is an office facility or via telehealth from an off-site location. Clientele may sometimes be verbally or physically abusive.
