Civil CAD Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance to engineers/designers/surveyors using CAD software operations to create plans and perform design work
  • A major component of this position is to produce production sheets by adding dimension/layout plans and title/detail sheets
  • Assist with 2D and 3D modeling and plan production; develop 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills
  • Assist in the review of designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements
  • Assist in development of initial design concepts
  • Communicate effectively with project team members and clients
  • Work with internal staff to coordinate design and constructability solutions
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1-3 years CAD experience
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) is preferred, however candidates with a strong CAD background will be considered and training will be provided.
  • Associates degree in Engineering, Drafting Technology, or similar field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and documents
  • Ability to understand drafting standards, and design documentation
  • Experience examining and checking engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications
  • Ability to draft and clearly communicate RFI's (Request for information) and Proposals to Project Managers and Engineers
