Principal R&D Technician – Shockwave Medical Develop and optimize polymer extrusion processes for medical device tubing. Work closely with R&D engineers and maintain documentation for tooling, test methods, and quality systems. Lead development of extrusion processes, tooling, and equipment for extruded products. Design and fabricate fixtures and tooling for product builds and testing. Document tool drawings, design concepts, and maintain records per quality system requirements. Support test method development and conduct verification and validation testing. Mentor other technicians and lead product and process characterization. Collaborate with engineers to design and assemble functional prototypes. Assist in root‑cause investigations, equipment installation, and qualification. Maintain lab instruments and troubleshoot equipment. Train technicians, assemblers, and engineers on procedures. Draft manufacturing process instructions and conduct other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma with 10+ years’ R&D technician experience or associate’s degree with 8+ years’ experience in the medical device industry. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a polymer extruder manufacturing environment. Knowledge of plastics, extrusion processes, material selection and testing. Familiarity with GMP, GDP and laboratory practices. Machine shop experience preferred. Proficient with MS Office. Comfortable working in a clean room environment. Ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced environment. Employee may be required to lift objects up to 25lbs. The anticipated base pay range for this position is $32.07 – $51.50. Senior R&D Technician – Shockwave Medical Use technical skills in the development of innovative disposable devices for peripheral, coronary, and heart valve diseases. Participate in cross‑functional teams from concept to commercialization. Work independently on multiple project tasks with minimal supervision. Partner with engineers to assemble prototypes and provide design feedback. Assist in product and process design, development, and optimization. Perform equipment installation, qualification, and root‑cause analysis. Prepare test samples for routine and qualification testing. Assist in transfer of product from R&D to manufacturing. Validate test methods, fabricate fixtures and tooling for testing. Maintain and troubleshoot lab instruments and equipment. Document concepts, designs, drawings, test methods, and processes. Train technicians and engineers on procedures and product assembly. Draft manufacturing process instructions. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma with 5+ years of R&D technician experience in the medical device industry, or associate’s degree with 3 years’ experience. Familiar with GMP, GDP and laboratory practices. Experience with balloon catheter, drug coating, valve or other cardiovascular devices preferred. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Experience with sketches, CAD, etc. for simple fixture design. Proficient with MS Office. Comfortable working in a clean room environment. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Team and independent work with flexibility to changing requirements. Employee may be required to lift objects up to 25lbs. Manufacturing Technician – Shockwave Medical Perform complex or specialized technical assignments to support development and manufacturing teams. Design, develop, maintain and modify manufacturing equipment, materials, systems, and products. Support testing of products, processes, or equipment to meet requirements and timelines. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues with hands‑on experience. Train new employees and provide procedural guidance. Facilitate meetings and training sessions for all technical personnel. Analyze data, report findings, and present plans to engineers and management. Provide support data for engineers during qualification and validation studies. Plan and organize project assignments, establish priorities and maintain work schedules. Provide other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma with 1 year of manufacturing technician experience in the medical device industry, or 3 years of other relevant experience. Knowledge of QSRs, FDA, ISO, MDD and other relevant regulations. Experience with 5S, Lean, and waste reduction preferred. Experience in preventive maintenance and calibration is a plus. Knowledge of PLCs, pneumatic systems, and electrical systems. Experience in manufacturing processes, systems, and product development. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Independent and collaborative work with flexibility to changing requirements. May be required to lift objects up to 25lbs or more. Ability to work in air‑conditioned and non‑temperature controlled warehouse environments. The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $18.80 – $29.88. Travel Cath Lab RN – Fusion Medical Staffing (San Jose / Pleasanton) Provide specialized cardiac care during catheterization and interventional procedures. Support team of cardiologists and laboratory staff during 13‑week travel assignments. Conduct patient assessment prior to procedures. Assist in positioning, electrode and lead placement. Support physicians during procedures: catheter, wire, balloon, stent and device placements. Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment. Assist in sheath removal and transport patients to recovery. Monitor vitals, ECG and hemodynamic parameters. Provide post‑procedure care and monitoring. Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment. Communicate effectively with team, patients, families and physicians. Adhere to safety, infection control and regulatory protocols. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: One year of recent experience as a Cath Lab RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification. Current ACLS Certification. Preferred Qualifications: PALS or ENPC Certifications. RCIS certification. Additional certifications and licenses may be required. Benefits: Competitive pay for travel professionals.
