Product Management Director – Quantum Computing IonQ is developing the world's most powerful full‑stack quantum computer based on trapped‑ion technology. We are looking for a technical, user‑focused, independent Product Management Director to build critical pieces of our quantum computing portfolio and lead our mission to bring quantum out of the lab and into the world. Responsibilities Understand the market, build and communicate a strong point of view about our customers and their needs, and assess how IonQ’s and competitors’ solutions can deliver on those needs. Understand our technology, engineering processes, and R&D roadmap and use this knowledge to inform key design decisions and trade‑offs. Build strong relationships with engineering to champion user and business needs, communicate roadmaps, requirements, and priorities, and manage trade‑offs with delivery teams. Lead cross‑functional efforts to define product value proposition, positioning and go‑to‑market strategy, and help deliver the vision across Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success, and more. Learn and iterate by working closely with customers, customer success, applications research, internal data and others to assess product health and feed insights forward. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience accepted). 12+ years of experience in technical product leadership roles. Experience commercializing a technology or building a new market for a technology. Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex topics to technical and non‑technical audiences. Self‑starting leader capable of driving impact in ambiguous, challenging environments. Preferred Advanced degree (PhD, MSc, MBA) in Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, or related field. Experience with quantum computing, quantum information science, or AMO physics. Experience in cloud computing, scientific computing, or high‑performance computing. Location & Travel Remote‑first team; available to work from wherever you are, or from IonQ’s Seattle‑area, DC‑area, or Toronto offices. Expected travel 10‑20% for team/on‑site conferences and customer visits. Compensation Approximate base salary range: $162,920 – $213,304. Total compensation includes base, bonus, and equity.
