Senior Engineer - System Administrator Join Tata Consultancy Services as a Senior Engineer - System Administrator. You will administer and maintain VMware, Windows, and Linux servers, perform hardware management, and support data center operations. Job Description As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration of ESXi servers, VMware environments, and Windows Server systems, perform basic Linux administration tasks, and manage the full lifecycle of server hardware. Key Responsibilities Administration of ESXi servers and VMware environments Manage Windows Server systems and perform basic Linux administration tasks Perform racking/mounting of servers and network devices; run structured cabling (network/fiber) and decommission servers Deep hardware knowledge of Dell, HPE, and Lenovo servers; assemble and disassemble components Execute firmware and service pack updates; troubleshoot related issues Configure and maintain KVM switches for remote access and control Set up and troubleshoot ILO, iDRAC, and BMC interfaces for out‑of‑band management Perform CPU upgrades and manual firmware updates as needed Configure and troubleshoot basic networking components including VLANs and trunk ports Configure and troubleshoot DNS/DHCP services and resolve related issues Troubleshoot PXE boot issues and manage virtual media imaging processes Deploy storage servers and perform basic configuration tasks; provide remote support to storage teams on server and FC switch configurations Manage data center environments with a focus on uptime and efficiency Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and vendors to resolve technical challenges Required Technical Skills Administration of ESXi servers and VMware environments Manage Windows Server systems and basic Linux administration Hardware know‑how for Dell, HPE, and Lenovo servers Experience with server firmware, BIOS, and service pack updates Network fundamentals including VLANs, trunking, DNS, DHCP, and PXE boot Desired Managerial / Soft Skills Flexible and eager to learn emerging technologies and tools Strong time management and prioritization skills aligned with customer needs Committed to delivering high‑quality results within tight deadlines Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to system reliability Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000 a year #J-18808-Ljbffr
