Postdoctoral Fellow - Psychology UNSW – Faculty of Science, School of Psychology Take part in a 12‑month, full‑time postdoctoral position in the lab of Dr. Erin Goddard, working on an Australian Research Council funded project in visual neuroscience in collaboration with Dr. Alexandra Woolgar (University of Cambridge). Overview The School of Psychology is the leading psychology school in Australia with a world‑class research and teaching program. This postdoctoral fellowship offers a chance to develop independent research expertise within a multidisciplinary environment. Role Details Salary: $113k – $121k plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading Term: Fixed‑term, 12 months Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week Reports to: Senior Lecturer Erin Goddard (no direct reports) Responsibilities Plan and conduct independent research and contribute to collaborative projects in visual neuroscience Create scholarly outputs that are recognised by peers through publications and poster/ conference presentations Support the development of research activities under the guidance of a research leader Disseminate research results through appropriate channels and outlets Undertake discipline‑appropriate research activities (surveys, literature reviews, data gathering, etc.) Present at conferences and workshops as required Assist in the supervision of research students where needed Adhere to the university’s Code of Conduct, values and health and safety policies Qualifications & Selection Criteria PhD in a related discipline (or suitable work experience) Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MATLAB or Python Demonstrated ability to conduct high‑quality academic research independently Track record of publications and conference presentations Experience working in a team, collaborating across disciplines, and building effective relationships Evidence of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and students Commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values, and awareness of relevant policies Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and willingness to undertake training Application Process To apply, please submit your application online – applications received via email or other methods will not be considered.
