At LSF, we seek passionate Child Welfare Case Manager Specialists ready to make a significant impact in the lives of families and children.
Purpose & Impact:
The Child Welfare Case Manager Specialist will deliver comprehensive case management services to our clients, forging strong relationships and embodying the core values of our agency.
Essential Functions:
- Manage all assigned cases promptly, visiting children in their primary residence within 2 working days of ITR staffing, and conduct Family Assessments within 15 working days.
- Collaboratively create a case plan with family members and relevant parties, focusing on reunification or other permanency goals for the child.
- Conduct regular visits to children and maintain documentation in accordance with required timelines.
- Utilize community resources effectively, ensuring timely referrals and maintaining ongoing communication with service providers.
- Prepare and submit court documentation punctually and attend all necessary court activities.
- Engage in diligent searches for parents and family members and conduct home studies for prospective placements.
- Provide transportation for children as required and ensure all Independent Living services are effectively delivered.
- Participate in appointments, trainings, and agency meetings as needed.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to enhance service delivery.
- Adhere to Florida Statutes and organize all work assignments to meet deadlines.
- Foster a respectful environment through courteous communication and teamwork.
- Comply with safety protocols and maintain confidentiality in all professional interactions.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Valid Florida Driver's License and Insurance.
- Ability to travel locally for case management and training.
- Proficient computer skills with capability to sit for extended periods.
- Flexibility to adapt to variations in work hours as needed.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR along with crisis intervention skills.
Education/Experience
- Minimum of one year relevant experience required; certification within one year is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field is required, with a preference for Social Work degrees.
Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to understand the comprehensive needs of children and families.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity to serve diverse client populations effectively.
