Job Title: RN Outpatient Surgery

License: Current RN License (Oklahoma State or multistate compact RN License)

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association)

Must-Have: Stepdown experience, experience in Phase 2 Recovery and Discharge

Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Outpatient Surgery unit who demonstrates professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. The successful candidate will:

- Provide nursing care to a variety of patients, from simple to complex cases, under general supervision.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, and note all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed, and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care and interact with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel and delegate tasks to support staff.

Preferred candidates will have post-mod sedation recovery experience. The position does not require an OR circulator.

Skills & Experience:

- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.

Education:

- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program.

- English: Speak, Read, Write
