Managing Director, Regional Market Executive – Northwest Apply for the Managing Director, Regional Market Executive – Northwest role at Charles Schwab. Location: Portland, OR. Salary: $208,000.00 – $270,400.00. Key Responsibilities Lead a territory of approximately 17 branches across HI, AK, WA, OR, ID, and UT. Oversee 11 Branch Managers and their teams delivering Wealth Management services. Drive sales and relationship management excellence, fostering a culture of compliance and supervision. Execute Schwab’s strategic priorities for accelerated growth and operational excellence. Partner with Branch Managers to develop and execute effective local business plans aligned with broader strategic goals and growth initiatives. Advance Schwab’s Branch Network priorities and support the real‑estate strategy. Represent the Schwab brand across the Northwest territory. Inspire a shared vision for success and growth across the branch network. Guide a diverse set of geographies and coach Branch Managers to elevate brand presence and market reputation. Maintain virtual leadership capabilities to support geographically dispersed teams. Business Strategy & Execution Develop comprehensive local business plans aligned with Schwab’s strategic priorities. Define clear, measurable goals and regularly communicate progress. Implement and evaluate targeted campaigns to drive sales performance and client engagement. Champion operational excellence and identify process improvements that increase efficiency. Practice effective resource management and advocate for high‑value additions. Grow and leverage internal/external business partnerships. Maintain deep understanding of competitor and industry trends. Support Branch Managers in optimizing local opportunities. Talent Development & Management Coach Branch Managers and team members to elevate leadership capabilities. Build succession plans and recruit top talent. Hold employees accountable for quantitative and qualitative measures. Promote a culture of recognition, development, and accountability. Risk & Compliance Management Drive a culture of compliance and risk management. Identify audit and compliance risks in partnership with the Supervision and Controls Team. Ensure Branch Managers observe Financial Consultants’ sales practices. Uphold Schwab’s brand and shareholder value through ethical leadership. Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ensure all supervised individuals meet licensing and training requirements. Distribute new and amended policies and provide training as needed. Implement appropriate security measures to protect proprietary information. Required Experience 10+ years of sales and leadership experience in a similar‑scale financial services role. Prior sales management experience with exposure to Operations, Technology, Human Resources, Supervision, Compliance, etc. Ability to build trust and cultivate partnership across locations. History of building strong collaborative teams through engagement and collaboration. Ability to set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for results. Bachelor’s degree. Active and valid Series 7, 9/10, and Series 66 licenses. Active and valid Series 24 (preferred). Preferred Experience Inspirational leader with a strong drive for results. Strong people, process, and business leadership with discernment. Ability to build and sustain trusted partnerships across work groups. Sound operational and supervisory judgment. Effective time‑management and prioritization skills. Constant drive for innovation and continuous improvement. Confidence in speaking and acting with integrity. Leadership of teams responsible for coaching, development, recognition, and performance management. Ability to discern when direct management is required versus independent decision‑making.
