This is a role where you will work in a TEAM environment.SUMMARY OF POSITION:This position is responsible for management of the day-to-day functions related to the manufacturing operations. This position works with and is an integral part of the team charged with decision making and the overall success of the company. The Plant Controller reports to the Director of Finance. The incumbent is responsible for managing a variety of accounting and other business-related functions.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Ensures compliance with company policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.Maintains the general ledger.Ensures accurate and timely monthly financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to Marmon and effectively communicating financial results internally to facilitate decision making.Oversees day-to-day functions e.g. accounts payable, general accounting, etc. are carried out in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.Provide necessary support.Ensures proper results from the inventory spreadsheets.Analysis of materials consumed and other variances.Supervises physical inventories.Proper ledger maintenance and property inventories.Maintain direct cost accounting environment at manufacturing facility.Assist with preparing the annual budget for the plant.Participates in and actively supports Quality projects and activities and Responsible Care Initiatives to ensure that the Company achieves its goals.EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCEMinimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance with a minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.Advanced degree and/ or CPA is beneficial.Ability to supervise effectively both staff and clerical employees.Ability to analyze financial and other information into the operations of the company.Ability to integrate non-financial and other information into the operations of the company.Highly motivated, creative, innovative, self-starter, and makes decisions.Direct and lead subordinates to improve and simplify processes.Strong written and oral communications skills.DISCLAIMERPlease note the duties listed are not set forth for purposes of limiting the assignment of work.
