Loadstar has an opportunity for you We are currently seeking experienced, licensed Tankermen to serve as the Person-in-Charge (PIC) of cargo transfer operations involving tank barges at one of our Corpus Christi facilities. Transfers include a wide range of liquid products such as oils, refined products, chemicals, and liquefied gases, with black oil and heated cargo experience preferred. As a Loadstar Tankerman, you will be responsible for all aspects of the transfer process, including securing and mooring vessels, conducting pre-transfer inspections, safely operating valves to manage cargo movement, completing required documentation, and communicating effectively with dock facility personnel. Applicants must hold valid U.S. Coast Guard licensing and documentation, and demonstrate solid experience, integrity, a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to maintain safe, incident-free operations. Schedule & PayFull Time 7 days on and 7 days off schedule Ability to work scheduled shifts - Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays Job RequirementsReliable transportation Must hold current and valid: U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) Coast Guard medical card Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) Driver's License Job Duties & Responsibilities Perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation Serve as the Person-In-Charge of the vessel, ensuring the safe transfer of products to and from vessels per USCG regulations and company / customer requirements Travel to job locations Transport, wear, and use all required equipment necessary for safe job completion Conduct pre-transfer risk assessments and develop cargo transfer plans Conduct pre-transfer inspections per the Loadstar Barge Inspection Report Communicate with Marine Logistics and reports any irregularities, discrepancies, or unsafe conditions affecting the vessel or facility Demonstrate the commitment to utilize Stop Work Authority if there is any uncertainty about whether it is safe to proceed Regularly evaluate and modify cargo flow as needed throughout the transfer Regularly inspect and adjust barge mooring lines throughout the cargo transfer to allow for changes in equipment draft or condition Disconnect and secures the barge valves and openings to prepare barge for departure Job Qualifications18 years or older Legally able to work in the U.S. Consistent work history with good references from past employers Must complete pre-employment requirements including but not limited to a physical, drug and alcohol testing, and background check.
