* Triage patients to assess severity of illness and prioritize care.
* Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, evaluation) to deliver comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Department (ED).
* Coordinate and direct nursing care for assigned patients, ensuring effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
* Maintain accurate and timely data collection for both direct and indirect patient care.
* Thoroughly document patient care activities on appropriate hospital forms.
* Provide safe discharge planning and education to patients, making appropriate referrals for follow-up care.
* Communicate effectively with ED physicians, staff, and other departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of Ohio or multi-state with Ohio recognition.
* Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in an Emergency Department setting.
* Completion of 24 contact hours of approved Continuing Education (CE) every two years as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
* Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA within six months of employment and bi-annual renewal thereafter.
* Completion of National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification within six months of hire and annual renewal.
* Completion of Behavioral Health & De-Escalation Training (BHDT) within six months of hire and annual renewal.
* Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in emergency situations.
* Commitment to patient education and providing compassionate care.
