PrideStaff is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician for a Manufacturing Company in Huntersville, NC. They develop and produce propane-powered engines, engine fuel system components, propane-powered floor-care machinery, and battery-powered floor maintenance machinery. The Mechanical Technician would be responsible for troubleshooting machines, fabricating fixtures and tools, conducting quality inspections, and also assisting with manufacturing.

Pay: $23/hr. - $24/hr.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

The Mechanical Technician will report directly to the Production Manager.

The primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test a variety of combustion engine and battery-powered industrial equipment, including but not limited to:
    • Industrial floor cleaning equipment
    • Industrial concrete preparation and grinding equipment
    • Industrial lawn-care equipment such as John Deere ride-on lawnmowers and Gators
    • Other industrial equipment applications commonly used in the construction industry
  • Conduct engine testing on Dynamometer, and Calibrate engine configurations, primarily engine fuel systems
  • Rework warehouse products according to engineering documents and procedures
  • Asses returned equipment and conduct root cause failure analysis
  • Assist with production and assembly duties, including but not limited to:
    • Assemble components and machines
    • Inspect product and document findings
    • Miscellaneous warehouse duties
  • Support engineering by producing and reviewing technical and operational specifications
  • Review new product samples and provide feedback and design improvement opportunities
  • An active member in product and process continuous improvement.
Qualifications of the Mechanical Technician:
  • Minimum of 4-years hands-on mechanical repair and maintenance experience, preferably involving products with internal combustion engines, including automotive
  • Experience with 12V and/or 24V DC electric systems, components, and diagnostics
  • Experience in an assembly and/or production environment
  • Ability to work fast with minimal supervision and be task-oriented
  • Strong ability to read, interpret and troubleshoot using mechanical and electrical schematics, drawings, and engineering schedules and instructions
  • Comfortable and proficient in the use of a wide range of power tools
  • Strong fabrication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to be assigned a range of tasks
  • Good customer-facing skills and experience
  • Have a clean and current driving license
  • Positive attitude
  • Supervision skills a plus
  • Computer application skills a plus
