Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist - MRI to join our team at the University of Washington Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing and analyzing comprehensive MRI examinations on patients referred for diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examinations, explain the procedure, and answer patient questions.
- Review patient medical history on exam requests, consult with physicians as necessary to ensure proper exams for each patient.
- Prescribe proper scanning parameters for common MRI exams with the assistance of documented or computer-prescribed protocols.
- Determine optimal imaging options for common MRI exams to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time.
- Administer contrast under supervision of Radiologists.
- Assure that patients are properly scheduled in Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and exams are completed with proper billing.
- Assure that exams are filmed, archived, and sent to Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) properly.
- Monitor equipment to ensure diagnostic exams.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic system malfunctions.
- Practice equipment safety policies and procedures.
- Restock rooms of all supplies as needed.
- Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA-approved school, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent education/experience.
