OverviewKPMG is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate to join our Trade and Customs practice. The role involves advising clients on trade compliance matters (import/export), leading client projects, and contributing to market development and thought leadership. The position emphasizes developing your career through formal training and mentoring within a collaborative, diverse team.ResponsibilitiesMeet with and provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on trade compliance matters (import/export)Lead and manage client projects including trade compliance audits, reviews, program development and trainingSupport market development and thought leadership initiatives including articlesResearch, write, and review advice in export complianceAid in the management, career development and training of team membersAdditional Responsibilities for Senior AssociateProvide leadership to associates and review their workQualificationsMinimum one year of recent direct experience in trade compliance with knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection rules and regulations, the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Code, export compliance (EAR/ITAR), and related areas; experience as an attorney, trade consultant, in-house professional or government official is acceptableBachelor’s degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation and/or MBA from an accredited institutionStrong experience with U.S. import/export control regulations and the ability to provide practical advice and solutionsGeneral export control and sanctions experience, including audits/reviews, voluntary disclosures, classification, and developing a trade compliance frameworkExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to analyze transactional data using data and analytics; experience in a leading tax/advisory or trade law firm is preferredAbility to travel domestically and internationallyAuthorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the futureSenior Associate: Additional QualificationsMinimum three years of direct experience working on engagements involving import/export complianceUnited States Customs Broker or CUSECO certification preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
