Position Overview Hacienda La Puente Unified School District is an equal opportunity employer and one of the top 50 employers in California for 2020. We are currently seeking a full‑time, 12‑month, 40‑hour per week, finance manager to plan, coordinate, supervise and administer the District’s financial operations. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, establish performance requirements and personal development. Provide expert guidance and direction in resolving a wide array of routine to complex issues in compliance with generally accepted accounting practices, applicable laws, codes and District policies. Assume agency and supervisor functions of other limited authorized agents making commitments on behalf of the District. Plan, organize, coordinate and supervise internal and external auditing functions. Make financial and budgetary recommendations for improvements as needed. Advise Board Members, Superintendent, Associate Superintendent of Business Services and management regarding financially related issues. Direct, review and assist administrators and staff with accounting for expenditures, property, expenditure forecasting, cash‑flow management, investment of surplus funds and maintenance of official accounting records. Plan, organize, coordinate, administer, integrate, evaluate and control accounting, budgeting and payroll functions for the District. Gathers, reviews, compiles and analyzes all accounting functions, statistical analyses and financial reports. Participate in various budget review sessions and incorporates revisions. Compose, write, edit and complete technical reports and other written materials. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a closely related field. Five years of experience in finance or accounting work, including at least three years in a management/supervisory position involving policy development, budget preparation and personnel management. Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License. Evidence of adequate insurance for a motor vehicle that meets or exceeds the California legal liability insurance requirement. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is highly desirable. Benefits Paid sick leave: Full‑time classified employees earn 12 days of paid sick leave credit each fiscal year. Paid vacation: 26 vacation days per year for classified management employees. Paid holidays: Up to 16 holidays per year depending on months worked. Health benefits: For positions 35 hours or more per week the District contributes $12,900 toward annual premium for medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.
