KP Aviation, an international supplier and procurer of aftermarket aviation components and assets, is searching for the next key member of our team Director of Quality is responsible for training, maintaining, and updating quality certifications, supporting corrective actions, developing, and communicating quality goals, gathering, and analyzing performance metrics, support in the Certification KPA ASA-100 & FAA AC -0056, and acting as the company’s quality representative with customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will report quality metrics, trends, and activities to improve cost, quality, and schedule performance. Implements a quality culture of root cause analysis and corrective action to prevent future escapes and continuously improve quality. Performs any other requests or duties as assigned by management.


Your role will take you to new heights, as you will be tasked with these essential job responsibilities:

  • Reviews and maintains financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Leads the quality team.
  • Supports planning, development, implementation, and management of an effective Quality Assurance program using ASA-100 & FAA AC 00-56 principles including the management of the Quality Policy, Quality Manual, Quality objectives, site operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Helps with ensuring that no defective, unserviceable, or unairworthy parts are used in the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration of articles approved for return to service by the Repair Station.
  • Helps ensure the reporting of serious failure, malfunction or defect of an article is completed accurately in the appropriate format and submitted timely.
  • Helps guarantee the proper execution and timely submission of FAA Form 337 when required, as well as maintenance releases.
  • Help confirm the final acceptance is completed on all incoming material, including new parts, supplies, and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been performed outside the Repair Station by contract.
  • Helps verify the preliminary, hidden damage, in progress, and final inspection is completed on all articles processed by the Repair Station and results recorded.
  • Reviews the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components.
  • Helps establish continuity of inspection responsibility is completed when personnel shift or assignment changes occur.
  • Ensure that rejected and unserviceable parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts.
  • Maintain files of completed work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that the file pertaining to a specific item repaired can be readily located for review.
  • Other jobs and duties that may be assigned at the discretion of the company.
  • Manages Approved Vendor List (AVL).
  • Supports and works with all departments to resolve quality issues as they arise.
  • Supports and leads training as issues are identified by department.
  • Works with Customers and vendors to resolve issues such as on hold, rejections.
  • Inspects authority for KPA for customers that have specialized receipt of KPA product and services.
  • Supports, develops, and implements effective standard and consistent metrics across organization that will assist managers in providing quality products to customers.
  • Participate in the review of corrective/preventive actions utilizes quality and tools and techniques to provide recommendations for continuous process improvement.
  • Acts as the secondary quality contact for customers and certification audits.
  • Help ensures essential Quality Management System policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, skill to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Maintains confidentiality and a high level of professionalism throughout all aspects and responsibilities.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to customers and internal parties.
  • Responds to phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with customers and representatives of internal departments in a professional manner.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains long-lasting customer and vendor relationships.
  • Participates in the development of organizational and operational excellence by upholding company policies and procedures as well as demonstrating a level of professionalism and communication consistent with the expectations of the position.
  • Upholds a strong company image consistent with the company’s core values; maintain a culture of professionalism and quality.
  • Performs other requests and duties as assigned by management.

  • Technical skills and comfort with databases and report generation software.
  • Understanding of quality assurance processes and standards.
  • Trained and experienced in auditing; capable of training and leading an audit.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate quality policies and practice.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of general employment laws and compliance guidelines.
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skill in typing and general computer literacy.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in problem solving and decision making/analysis.
  • Ability to be flexible, self-directed, and motivated.
  • Ability to be patient, adaptable and maintain confidentiality especially in high-tension situations.
  • Ability to prioritize rapidly, while utilizing problem solving skills when dealing with unforeseen circumstances.
  • Ability to multitask in stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain records, review documents for accuracy, organize documents, calendar, and track claims.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with partners, team members, management, and others.
  • Ability to develop and leverage relationships with management and team members to gain support and achieve results, with attention paid to conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to support and consult with management and team members in the administration, interpretation and application of organization policies and procedures.
  • Ability to research and analyze information and make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues consistent with standards, practices/processes, policies, and State/Federal regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills, professionalism, and a team-driven attitude.
  • Bachelors/Associates Degree in Quality Engineering, Business Administration, or Quality Management Systems preferred, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Experience and/or training within Quality Management.
  • Certified or trained in ASA-100 & FAA AC 00-56 requirements, implementation, and maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in Aftermarket Aviation material a plus.
