Director, Product Management

.* Portfolio leadership: End to end strategy for patent and related content: ingestion, ETL/ELT, enrichment, normalization, and surfacing across apps and APIs.* Content platform: Roadmap for data lake/lakehouse, knowledge graph/ontology, metadata services, schema governance, data contracts, and lineage.* Data products: Commercial datasets, bulk exports, APIs, event streams, and partner integrations, including pricing/packaging and SLAs.* Data quality & trust: Frameworks for accuracy, completeness, coverage, freshness, deduplication, and explainability.* People & org: Hire, develop, and lead PM managers/ICs; set standards and practices for platform and data product management.* Own requirements for multi-jurisdiction ingestion (e.g., WIPO, EPO, USPTO, CNIPA, JPO, KIPO, and others), including file formats, schedules, rate limits, and licensing.* Drive normalization and enrichment (assignee/inventor disambiguation, entity resolution, family building, citations, classifications IPC/CPC alignment, multilingual translation/OCR).* Partner with Engineering on reliable, observable pipelines (monitoring, alerting, retries, backfills); set targets for throughput, latency, and recovery.* Advance knowledge graph/ontology capabilities; govern schema evolution, versioning, and compatibility.* Implement data governance: lineage, cataloguing, access controls, retention, and provenance (source, license, timestamp); uphold security and compliance (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) and license obligations.* 12–15+ years in product management (or adjacent), including 5+ years managing managers or leading multi product/platform portfolios.* Proven track record shipping large scale data platforms and commercial data products (APIs, datasets, feeds) with strong reliability and SLAs.* Experience with content ingestion/normalization, knowledge graphs/ontologies, entity resolution, multilingual pipelines (OCR/translation), and data quality frameworks.* Demonstrated capability in data governance (catalog, lineage, access, licensing), schema/version management, and security/compliance for enterprise customers.* Strong commercial acumen: pricing/packaging, business cases, and partnership/vendor management; effective executive communication.* Domain expertise in patent and IP data, including IPC/CPC, legal status, family, and citations; familiarity with IP office processes.* Experience with event streaming, data sharing/exchange models, and cost optimization in cloud data platforms.* Advanced degree in engineering, data science, or business; publications or talks in data platform/IP forums.* Generous holiday allowance with the option to buy additional days* Health screening, eye care vouchers and private medical benefits* Wellbeing programs* Life assurance* Access to a competitive contributory pension scheme* Save As You Earn share option scheme* Travel Season ticket loan* Electric Vehicle Scheme* Optional Dental Insurance* Maternity, paternity and shared parental leave* Employee Assistance Programme* Access to emergency care for both the elderly and children* RECARES days, giving you time to support the charities and causes that matter to you* Access to employee resource groups with dedicated time to volunteer* Access to extensive learning and development resources* Access to employee discounts scheme via Perks at WorkRELX is a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers, enabling them to make better decisions, get better results and be more productive.Our purpose is to benefit society by developing products that help researchers advance scientific knowledge; doctors and nurses improve the lives of patients; lawyers promote the rule of law and achieve justice and fair results for their clients; businesses and governments prevent fraud; consumers access financial services and get fair prices on insurance; and customers learn about markets and complete transactions.Our purpose guides our actions beyond the products that we develop.
