Registered Nurse Position at Inova Fairfax Hospital - Adult Observation Unit.

*Type:* Full-Time

*Shift:* Night shift available (7 p - 7a).

Inova Fairfax Hospital, the #1 Hospital in the DC metro area, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse at Inova Fairfax Hospital, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

The _*Adult Observation Unit (OBS)*_ at Fairfax Hospital is comprised of 24 beds with rapid patient turnover of 10-18 admissions and discharges per shift. The patient population consists of cardiac, neurological, medical, and surgical patients. This position allows for future professional growth by teaching the fast-paced atmosphere of an ER while strengthening critical skills in a medical/surgical setting. Ideal for candidates who possess strong time management skills, work well in a team -paced settings.

*Responsibilities:*

- Conduct patient assessments to identify care needs
- Organize and prioritize patient care according to established protocols
- Provide compassionate and empathetic hands-on care while maintaining patient privacy
- Document all patient care activities accurately
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings
- Integrate new knowledge into practice for safe and high-quality patient care
- Attend and complete all assigned learning sessions for RN Fellowship
- Serve as a preceptor following appropriate orientation and competency completion

Requirements:

- *Experience:* Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
- *Education:* BSN from an accredited school of nursing; ADN must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- *Certification:* BLS-AHA certification required.
- *Licensure:* Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
