Job Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Sr. Fleet Manager, the Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and operated in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Job Duties) Common activities listed below: actual position responsibilities may vary.

  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet yards demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow.
  • Keep vehicle fleet maintained to ensure vehicles are safe, ready, and available
  • Manage a team of drivers and ensure that all drivers are properly trained and licensed
  • Track and analyze fleet performance metrics and make recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee weekly vehicle checks and ensure issues are addressed and resolved within 24 hours.
  • Maintain and log vehicle maintenance records
  • Maintain key log and vehicle assignments
  • Schedule routine services, ie: oil changes, and tire services to ensure vehicles are ready and available
  • Maintain product inventory by ordering and maintaining supplies needed / Product inventory, track usage
  • Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ensure equipment repairs are addressed quickly and efficiently
  • Schedule transportation of equipment to be repaired
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
  • Operate work trucks forklift and skid steer
  • Maintain inventory of safety supplies
  • Maintain inventory of PPE, safety glasses, gloves, safety vests, and others safety supplies
  • Continuously improve the yards operations, facilities, and grounds maintenance.
  • Preventive maintenance for building, parking lot, trash/dumpster area, service trucks
  • Maintain fire protection devices, smoke alarms, signage, and fire extinguishers
  • Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to maintain effective communication with management.
  • Ability to perform job with the knowledge of policies, procedures, and industry standard strategies
  • Operate heavy equipment and process material accurate.
  • Ability to operate machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to identify, remove, transport or dispose of waste materials.

Qualifications: Minimum

  • Education & Experience: Minimum HSD or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages.
  • Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including a variety of standing, sitting, and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of 30-50 pounds, occasional climbing of ladders; usage of pallet jacks and forklift.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES: (pls include anything that is pertinent to this position)

  • Ability to obtain and renew any certificates, licenses, registrations required by law or

management for the position.

  • Clean DMV Report

 

 

Skills Required:

  • Must have mechanical aptitude. Be physically able to work in various weather

conditions. Climb and lift ladders, be able to work around cleaning products and

equipment for chemical toilet service and repair.

  • Effective communication skills, organization and planning skills.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, use proper judgment relating to
  • customer’s property and job performance.
  • Must be able to enforce safety rules, protective apparel, liquid splash protective clothing,

personal protective suits, and protective eye lens.

  • Understand the principles of safety rules and regulations of working with waste materials,

according to OSHA requirements.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures.

Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements listed are the representative of the knowledge, skilland/or ability required. Position requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods oftime; move fingers and hands, ability to stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch.Perform the essential duties with minimal or no supervision. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
