Development Associate/Individual Giving Coordinator Join our team to support Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC) in building a sustainable community where residents achieve educational and economic success, secure healthy and affordable housing, and develop leadership skills. The role is full‑time and non‑exempt, reporting to the Director of Fund Development & Strategic Initiatives and supporting the Deputy Director of Fund Development. Key Responsibilities Individual Giving & Donor Engagement (40%) Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors, soliciting gifts between $250–$2,500. Plan and execute donor communications and campaigns (letters, phone calls, visits, appeals, digital fundraising, etc.) with the Communications & Marketing team. Maintain accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data integrity. Assist with donor briefings, visits, meetings, and stewardship activities. Support 100% recognition of gifts within 72 hours. Collaborate with leadership to cultivate alumni, junior board members, and volunteer‑to‑donor pipelines. Coordinate volunteer outreach and campaign events. Grants Management & Writing (30%) Prepare interim and final reports to funders with program and fiscal staff. Ensure compliance with grant requirements and maintain organized files. Research foundations and corporations; support prospecting and grant writing. Lead proposal development processes, including drafting, reviewing, and timely submission. Events & Fundraising Campaigns (20%) Assist in planning and executing major fundraising events and smaller cultivation events. Coordinate logistics, vendor relationships, sponsorship outreach, and attendee management. Track event revenue and expenses and manage donor follow‑up. Board Relations & Reporting (10%) Support board members in achieving annual giving goals. Generate monthly and quarterly donor reports for the board. Miscellaneous Other duties as assigned. Measurable Outcomes Grow the individual donor base by 15% annually. Achieve an annual fundraising target of $90,000 over three years from individual donors. Maintain a portfolio of 40–50 donors with strong moves management. Increase donor retention to at least 60% year‑over‑year. Execute at least two major campaigns per year meeting revenue and response goals. Ensure 100% timely acknowledgments within 72 hours. Produce accurate donor performance and campaign reports monthly and quarterly. Support 100% board giving participation annually. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. At least 2 years of experience with grants, contracts, or donor engagement in a nonprofit setting. Excellent writing skills across multiple platforms. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of online grant systems (Grants.gov, PASSPort, Grants Gateway, SAM) preferred. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, and Instrumentl. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe Acrobat. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage multiple tasks under demanding deadlines. Flexible, collaborative, able to work independently. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Supervision Reports directly to the Director of Fund Development & Strategic Initiatives and supports the Deputy Director of Fund Development. Compensation Salary: $55,000 – $65,000, depending on experience. Competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 403(b), vacation, and sick leave.
