The Role We’re looking for a talented and motivated Senior Tax Manager to join a fast‑growing, innovative professional advisory firm working with closely held businesses in the automotive retail, construction, manufacturing, distribution, and other for‑profit industries. Our ideal candidate is a self‑motivated, entrepreneurial person with a team mentality and strong technical accounting and tax knowledge. You will be responsible for leading tax engagements and supervising a team of support staff. Our position provides a unique opportunity for significant growth within our firm, working directly with business owners and their financial professionals. Responsibilities Lead and support a strong portfolio of auto dealership clients, in addition to engagements across other industries Occasional travel to auto dealership industry conferences across the U.S. – typically 3 per year in notable locations (such as Las Vegas, Napa, and Charleston) Provide initial and/or final review support for federal, state, and multi‑state individual tax returns for corporate business owners and high net worth individuals Build client relationships and serve as trusted advisor to effectively deliver superior client services Identify opportunities for value‑added services and potential cross‑selling of other firm services to existing clients Exemplary leadership skills and the ability to mentor, train, and develop staff members Support partner team in practice development; including attending conferences, networking events, and training and speaking engagements Requirements 10+ years of experience preparing and reviewing corporate and individual income tax returns Active CPA or EA Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field Proficient in project management including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and research Strong attention to detail Qualifications Integrity within a professional environment Experience with automotive retail industry or S‑corps Preferences Experience with CCH Axcess tax and Knowledge Coach Experience with automotive retail industry Location At TSS, we’ve designed a flexible work structure that enables both teamwork and independence, enhancing our employees’ work experience while promoting personal well‑being.
