South Willamette Veterinary Clinic is a mixed animal practice located in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Western Oregon. Our practice is unique in that it offers the highest quality veterinary medicine for small animals and equine species, along with services for farm animals.

We host and care for our patients in a modern and spacious facility founded by Veterinary Professionals who have dedicated their careers to the expertise in their respective interests, Equine general practice and Small Animal medicine and surgery.

*What we are looking for….*

A Certified Veterinary Technician who is enthusiastic about applying their professional skills in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laboratory testing, patient nursing and client education.

This person is routinely entrusted with patient assessments, anesthesia, procedures, drug doses and treatments. The technician must be a detail-oriented person who can make good decisions, respond quickly and appropriately to crisis and consistently maintain high standards of patient care.

Demonstrating a firm belief in the quality of care we provide, excellent client communication skills and a commitment to outstanding client service are essential.

*Job duties and responsibilities:*
* General knowledge of veterinary terminology, diseases, transmission, prevention and treatment
* Show respect for patients, clients and team members always
* Effectively promote preventive health care, nutrition and pet health insurance to clients
* Prioritize tasks and strategically plan doctor's needs to maximize patients’ health
* Clearly communicate treatment plans and service estimates to clients as recommended by our veterinarians
* Have the physical strength and ability to stand, crouch, position patients and perform all expected job duties and tasks within the Veterinarian Assistant/CVT role
* Know the names of instruments, all in-clinic inventory and drugs and where they are properly stored
* Safely restrain patients for assessment and treatment
* Monitor patients prior, during and after anesthesia
* Collect and process laboratory specimens
* Apply temporary bandages, splints and perform other technical skills; nail trims, anal gland expressions, ear cleanings
* Understand the paperwork and procedures of outside laboratories used by the practice.
* Provide basic life support, including CPR, airway maintenance, and oxygen therapy
* Flexibility with staff scheduling and understand shifts may run late and allow shorter rest periods

Qualifications:
* Must have current Certified Veterinary Technician credentials

Flexible Schedule:
* 4-Day Work Week for full-time employees (4x10)
