The Operations Team Doesn't Assist With Expansion—they Enable It. Each Team Member Focuses On One Of Five Essential Domains, Rapidly Developing Deep Expertise Through Hands-on Work And AI-enhanced Learning. Authorization & Permitting – Obtain multi-state legal clearance and expedite local permitting processes to open new markets. Physical Build-Out & Maintenance – Manage campus construction, facility upgrades, and vendor accountability to deliver and maintain superior learning environments. IT Operational Setup – Ensure every new campus launches with complete systems—hardware, software, support infrastructure, compliance protocols—fully operational from day one. Financial Operations – Create budgets, provide real-time insight dashboards, and establish audit‑ready financial governance across all schools and business units. PMO – Drive faster delivery of critical technology and marketing projects using vendor scorecards, tracking dashboards, and initiative‑level analytics. You’ll create dashboards that reveal hidden financial risks. Build student onboarding workflows that cut setup errors in half. Obtain regulatory authorization in new states. Launch campuses at unprecedented speed. Or develop AI‑driven processes that eliminate traditional management overhead. This is urgent, high‑impact execution—carried out by builders, not spectators. What You Will Be Doing Taking full ownership of one of five core operational pillars: Authorization, Build-Out, Platforms, Finance, or PMO Addressing novel challenges in your domain through AI, automation, and fast experimentation Creating detailed specifications, dashboards, or operational guides that work across multiple school sites Working directly with real‑world variables: facility vendors, regulatory bodies, technical systems, and operational staff Visiting campus locations as necessary to deploy or validate your implementations What You Won’t Be Doing Relying on product or engineering teams to create your operational tools—you'll build prototypes and automate processes directly Using AI to generate generic SOPs without implementation—you'll vibe‑code functional solutions that deliver real results Operating exclusively from headquarters—travel and on‑site delivery are expected Delegating execution of your strategy to others—you'll design and implement end‑to‑end Director Of Operations & Automation Key Responsibilities Take complete accountability for outcomes in your designated operations pillar by creating systems that enable rapid school expansion with precision, speed, and AI‑native capabilities. Basic Requirements Located in North America with ability to travel 25‑75% as required 5+ years of experience in a high-speed, high‑autonomy operations environment Excellent analytical capabilities and written communication skills Action‑oriented mindset, modest ego, strong sense of ownership Background in at least one of these areas: regulatory compliance, facilities buildout, SaaS user onboarding, FP&A, or tech vendor management Applies AI as naturally as others use spreadsheets: reflexively, regularly, and across multiple contexts Has created automations, systematized processes, and explored vibe‑coding for practical benefits or curiosity Demonstrated ability to quickly master new domains (legal, finance, compliance, systems, etc.) About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be.
