We are a bunch of hard-working, curious, attentive, coffee loving, no-ego, number-crunchers, owning the responsibility of processing payables, applying cash, ensuring financial accuracy and completeness, revenue close, financial statement preparation, all the way to budgets, forecasts, board decks etc. We are building the foundation of a world class Finance and Accounting organization.What you’ll be doing:Manage income tax return compliance (Federal, state and International) , and review tax returns including extensions and estimated payments for completeness and accuracyManaging the preparation of the worldwide income tax provisions under ASC 740 for RigUp's legal entities including supporting workpapers, journal entries, and audit deliverablesManage the review, filing, and remittance of sales and use tax across multiple U.S. jurisdictionsIdentification and implementation of tax accounting and compliance process improvementsCoordinate with the company's foreign operations on tax matters related to their operations (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing, etc.)Research appropriate tax accounting treatment for complex tax matters and proactively identify tax reporting and disclosure in the financial statementsProactively identify and research opportunities for tax optimization and tax savingsEffectively communicate with senior management regarding tax financial reporting implications of key transactions, operations, new projects, and legislative changesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders (auditors, advisors etc.)Work closely with cross functional partners on tax considerations in contracts, financial modeling, and budgetingWhat you should have:Position requires an individual with 6-7 years of corporate tax experience2+ years experience in direct people managementDeep ASC 740 experienceA solid understanding of corporate tax concepts applicable to domestic and foreign operationsFamiliarity with indirect tax systems and tools (e.g., OneSource)Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive resultsExcellent analytical, communication, and organizational skillsCollaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environmentNice to haves:Big 4 accounting firm experience preferredOil and Gas experienceMore than a job:Between now and 2050, global energy demand is forecasted to rise nearly 50%, which is a staggering number.
