Responsibilities Develop project safety plans with corporate safety and provide jobsite leadership. Develop project controls and procedures to manage complex project requirements; own mitigation of high‑risk items. Manage project financial forecast, notice provisions, and billings to meet contract requirements; take corrective actions to address deviations noted in project vitals. Create and manage a project‑specific quality plan aligned with the Owner contract and assist with execution. Create and manage a closeout plan aligned with the contract documents and assist with execution. Provide leadership in motivating the project team and maintain a positive work environment. This includes direct supervision of work, project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities. Develop subcontracting strategy; review and write scopes and other deliverables to ensure the integrity of the buyout process. Implement and enforce all aspects of contracts; create and lead a risk‑mitigation plan; prepare draft contracts, agreements, and purchase orders. Assume accountability for enrollment for insurance and bonds and manage the compliance process for trade contractors. Lead the development of the project estimate and manage the project and estimating teams to meet contractual obligations. Lead project constructability and coordination reviews. Create CPM schedules for large and/or complex projects; recognize potential schedule impacts and draft prevention/mitigation plans. Develop a basic understanding of local market areas and profiles to create and lead a networking strategy. Collaborate closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies and performance metrics on assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables. Actively participate in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that position Gilbane as the “Builder of Choice.” Be responsible for career development and coaching of team members. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members. Interpret and translate the organizational strategy, ensuring team understanding of their role in accomplishing strategic goals. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management. 10+ years of construction project management experience on projects 50‑100M+. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong technical and communication skills are critical. Ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of industry‑standard software, Microsoft Office (preferred). Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as internal equity and alignment with the team. For Baltimore, MD the range is $150,000.00 – $195,000.00 plus benefits and a retirement program. Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit‑sharing/401k plan.
