The role is ideal for candidates with 1 to 5 years of litigation experience seeking to specialize in PAGA and class action matters, exclusively representing employees in California. Job Overview The Associate Attorney will be primarily responsible for providing support and managing the initial stages of wage‑and‑hour and PAGA/class action employment lawsuits. This role requires an articulate and detail‑oriented litigator capable of handling high‑volume discovery, legal research, and law and motion practice for complex, multi‑plaintiff litigation. Key Responsibilities Support senior attorneys in PAGA and wage‑and‑hour class action litigation from case inception, including drafting initial complaints and managing discovery. Conduct in‑depth legal research and analysis focused on class certification, PAGA claims, and complex procedural issues. Draft complex legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and comprehensive briefs (Law and Motion), including motions related to class certification or PAGA management. Assist with and conduct depositions of named plaintiffs and key witnesses. Manage caseloads, ensure strict adherence to deadlines, and assist in client and plaintiff communication. Collaborate effectively with senior attorneys and maintain the firm's high ethical standards. Required Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active California State Bar license required, with no disciplinary history. 1 to 5 years of active civil litigation experience. Direct experience in PAGA and/or class action employment litigation is preferred. Proven proficiency in Law and Motion briefing and argument. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Superior oral advocacy and excellent written communication skills.
