Job Summary The Software Quality Engineer is responsible for creating end-to-end test plans, executing and managing all activities, and ensuring that the software solution meets functional, performance, stability, and compatibility requirements. This senior role supports Agile Scrum teams, drives quality initiatives, and provides leadership across projects. Responsibilities Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of deliverables. Identify test requirements from Conditions of Acceptance, map test case requirements, and design test coverage plan. Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts such as test plans, test summaries, and process documents. Execute and evaluate manual test cases and report test results. Hold and facilitate test case reviews with cross?functional team members. Advocate for and provide quality leadership on assigned program(s). Identify potential quality issues per defined process and immediately raise them to Product Owners. Keep team and stakeholders informed of QA progress and emergent risks. Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications via Functional, Regression, Performance, Stress, and Endurance testing. Isolate, replicate and report defects, and verify defect fixes via Exploratory and Usability Testing. Seek opportunities for improvement in quality, including efficiency gains and expanded test coverage. Assist and guide less experienced Software Quality Engineers. Engage as an active participant in Scrum ceremonies. Perform other appropriate duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Perform all job functions with a positive, professional attitude. Minimum Qualifications Strong knowledge and experience in test design, development, and execution of test cases supporting software and hardware solutions. Experience with testing desktop applications. Excellent observational, analytical, and problem?solving skills. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. Ability to stay disciplined and focused. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be productive and effective working either alone or as part of a team. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team?oriented, collaborative environment. Preferred Skills Experience with Test Track Pro, Version One, or similar testing tools/suites. Experience with software that directly interfaces with third?party firmware. 3+ years of experience in an Agile Scrum environment. Familiarity with closed network environments. US Government security clearance. Experience in ISR systems. Physical Demands Required to sit for long periods of time. Infrequent light physical effort required. Requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse. May require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a computer software related field (Quality Assurance, Computer Science, MIS) with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or equivalent. United States Citizenship required. Work Environment Work performed in an office environment with close proximity to others. Working with computers, and other computer components. Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours, including evenings and weekends. This is an on?site position. Travel may be required up to 10%.
