Chief Commercial Officer — United States GameChange Solar is one of the fastest growing, most dynamic companies in the rapidly growing solar industry. The US Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is responsible for developing and executing the company’s commercial strategy, including sales, marketing, and business development, to drive revenue growth and market expansion. Key responsibilities include leading commercial teams, managing client and partner relationships, identifying new opportunities, overseeing deal origination and negotiation, and aligning commercial activities with overall business goals. This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of the solar energy sector, financial acumen, and the ability to work with complex, long-term sales cycles. Chief Commercial Officer Responsibilities: Develop and implement commercial strategies, identify new market opportunities, and drive business growth and market penetration. Lead and manage sales, marketing, and business development teams; manage the entire sales pipeline from prospecting to closing deals; and originate and close complex transactions, including master supply agreements. Build and lead high-performing commercial teams, foster a culture of accountability, and manage performance and development. Set revenue and growth targets, manage budgets for commercial operations, and provide financial reporting to the executive team and board. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product, engineering, and finance teams to ensure commercial offerings meet market needs and to improve cross-functional processes. Deeply understand tracker engineering and key cost drivers. Ensure key pricing assumptions are validated. Revaluate base prices of key cost driver, if necessary Look for value Engineering ideas in close discussion with Engineering ensuring right solution is presented to customer. Create clear Pricing benchmarks to evaluate pricing/Engineering correctness. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviors to inform strategy. Ensure leading KPI for Sales teams, like face-to-face meetings, dinners etc. Chief Commercial Officer Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, with a technical degree or an MBA being preferred. Extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly solar and energy storage, with a proven track record in origination, deal-making, and closing complex commercial projects. 10+ years of experience in a Solar EPC company handling Business Development, Pre-Sales Engineering, and Cost Estimating. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and scale commercial business development teams, often in high-growth environments. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to translate vision into execution. Exceptional negotiation skills, particularly for complex contracts. Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and modeling revenues. Deep understanding of solar technologies and their applications in various settings Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. An agile and entrepreneurial mindset to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
