Opportunity

Shepherd Engineering Group is seeking Estimators to join the team at Ballard Marine Construction. This supportive organization offers continued opportunities for career advancement in a dynamic and fun work environment. They have defined benchmarks, as opposed to having to meet a set number of years of experience, so team members can move either vertically or horizontally in the organization. They help motivate and lift each other up, put safety above all else, and have never left or been released from a project.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on bid and proposal preparation, negotiate contracts with clients, and provide value engineering solutions across heavy civil, marine, and underwater disciplines.
  • Lead project estimates/proposals, develops project work plans, schedules and submittals, coordinates with vendors and subcontractors, and leads project hand-off meetings with key operational staff.


Qualifications and Experience

  • We are seeking professionals with at least three years of estimating experience, including having worked in heavy civil/marine construction.
  • Candidates should also have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering management, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Heavy Bid experience is a plus, as is experience in estimating projects with values up to $50 million, working on Joint Venture pursuits, and working on Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contract projects.
