We have established direct and distributor sales/service organizations in America and Europe, with sales expanding in other markets internationally. Reports ToMachine Shop Supervisor Job OverviewTRAK Machine Tools is looking for a highly skilled and experienced CNC Lathe Machinist Level 3 to join our team. This advanced-level role is ideal for a lathe machinist who can work independently from start to finishdeveloping CNC programs, designing fixtures, performing complex setups, and machining high-precision parts to tolerances of ±0.0001". The ideal candidate will also play a leadership role in supporting less experienced machinists, contributing to process improvement, and ensuring the highest quality standards on our proprietary and Mazak CNC equipment. ResponsibilitiesProgram, set up, and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes) for production and prototype partsDesign and fabricate custom jaws, fixtures, and workholding solutionsRead and interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specificationsMachine tight-tolerance parts to ±0.0001"Perform first-article inspections and make in-process adjustments as neededTrain and mentor CNC Machinist Levels 1 and 2Collaborate with engineering on design-for-manufacturability feedbackRecommend and implement improvements in tooling, methods, and processesWork independently to manage assigned jobs from programming through completionMaintain clean, organized, and safe work environmentCreate and modify digital job folders operation, setup and inspection forms QualificationsMinimum 8 years of CNC machining experience, including programming and complex setupsProficient in CAM software and/or conversational controls (e.g., Siemens Sinumerik, ProtoTRAK, or Mazak)Deep understanding of cutting tools, feeds/speeds, materials, and high-precision workholdingStrong ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&TProven track record of machining to ±0.0001" tolerancesEffective leadership, communication, and mentoring skillsAble to troubleshoot and resolve technical machining challenges independentlyExperience with Siemens Sinumerik One, ProtoTRAK, and Mazak controlsExposure to prototype and low-volume production environmentsExperience machining a wide range of materials, including aluminum, cast iron and various steelsFamiliarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives   DISCLAIMERThe above description is not intended to be interpreted as an exhaustive list of skills, qualifications, and duties for this role.
