The General Manager (GM) is responsible for all store operations to include RV Sales, Parts, and Service. Primary responsibilities include team development (goal setting, team building, recruiting, accountability, etc.), sales objectives, facility and merchandising, customer satisfaction, inventory, and budgeting and forecasting.

Detailed Description:

What you'll do:

  1. Operations and Sales Leadership
    1. Provide excellent operational support to the organization, creating an environment that releases individuals and teams to dedicate their resources to client service.
    2. Enable and empower team members to effectively function with clarity and efficiency.
    3. Work with Parts & Service as well as Rental Department to ensure sales goals are achieved.
    4. Meet sales goals by ensuring sales and finance staff work diligently to achieve their individual goals.
    5. Oversee product merchandising for both lot inventory and showroom to ensure everything is well organized and clean.
    6. Maintain a clean work environment throughout offices, showroom, and Parts & Service.
    7. Monitor customer service feedback to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  2. Financial Oversight and Services Optimization
    1. Set quarterly and annual goals for store P&L for profitability.
    2. Focus on budgeting and forecasting, enhancing accountability throughout each department.
    3. Monitor, analyze, and act on actual budget and financial performance to optimize the store's programs, financial outcomes, growth, and viability.
    4. In partnership with the senior finance/accounting team, actively manage the financial performance, resources and cash management of the store.
    5. Dedicate creativity, energy, and resources to continuous process improvement, profitably enhancing procedures while reducing waste and minimizing risk.
  3. Talent and Team Development
    1. Hire, train, and motivate all department managers.
    2. Maintain consistent discipline and day-to-day management, holding team members accountable for their work.
    3. Develop team members through goal setting, strategizing, and consistent development and training.
    4. Meet with managers individually to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance.
    5. Address talent needs that support operational excellence and align with the store's overall strategy for growth and delivery.
    6. Strengthen recruitment initiatives, ensuring that positional capabilities and character requirements are clearly identified and evaluated prior to hiring.
    7. Mentor leaders to increase capabilities and influence, guiding them towards excellence in delivery.
    8. Identify store-wide skill and training gaps and ensures proactive development plans are in place on a team and individual basis.
    9. Intentionally focus on associate development and retention at all levels.
    10. Partners with Management Team to maintain company communication programs and positive associate relations.

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Must be a highly detailed process driven leader and be able to hold the staff accountable for results.
  • Must possess a strong track record of superior results in a high-volume dealership.
  • Demonstrated dealership sales experience and management of a revenue generating team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sales management, merchandising, inventory, shrinkage control, security methods and consumer behavior.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid organizational and multitasking skills.
  • An awesome attitude with impeccable interpersonal skills.

Who we are:

Leland "Bish" Jenkins built his family business based on the principles of honesty, fair dealing, and treating customers right. Beginning in Eastern Idaho in the 1940's with the sale of livestock, Bish Jenkins and his family expanded the business into clothing, saddles, tack, and horse trailers. In 1989, one of Bish's grandsons wanted to purchase an RV from a local dealer. When he didn't like the price, he called the manufacturer and tried to buy one. But he needed to be a dealer. So, he bought six of them and Bish's RV was born

For over 30 years, Bish's RV has expanded from its original location in Idaho Falls, ID to a thriving group of over twenty dealerships with locations in Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming.
