About Us: CFS of New York is working with a reputable financial services firm dedicated to providing comprehensive tax planning and advisory services to our clients. They are currently seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to join our team and assist in managing our clients' tax compliance and reporting obligations.
Responsibilities of the Tax Accountant:
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns accurately and in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Analyze financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and advise clients on tax strategies to minimize liabilities.
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide guidance to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with tax planning initiatives, including estimating quarterly tax liabilities and implementing tax-efficient structures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, tax authorities, and external auditors to address inquiries and resolve tax-related issues.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on clients' tax positions.
- Assist in representing clients in tax audits and appeals, as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide integrated tax solutions and support business initiatives.
Qualifications of the Tax Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a financial services or public accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, UltraTax) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
