Base pay range $110,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Job Description Our client, leading engineering and technical consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team of forensic experts. This is an opportunity to step into high‑impact work involving complex investigations, hands‑on site assessments, and expert‑level analysis for insurance, legal, industrial, and commercial clients. What You’ll Do Conduct mechanical failure analysis across a wide range of systems and equipment. Investigate incidents to determine origin, cause, and failure mechanisms. Perform field inspections, equipment evaluations, data retrieval, 3D documentation, mechanical calculations, and CAD/manual sketches. Review codes, standards, technical documents, logs, and drawings to assess compliance and performance. Support fire and explosion investigations involving mechanical systems. Prepare clear, professional written reports and present findings to clients. Build and maintain strong client relationships. What We’re Looking For B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or higher. Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required or on track to obtain. 2–10+ years of experience with mechanical systems (products, machinery, HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, equipment design, or related). Experience with project management and/or field investigations strongly preferred. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills — written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering/design software.
