In this position, you will help build Kasa's global brand by ensuring that our fellow team members are paid accurately and on time while staying on top of compliance requirements in multiple jurisdictions and processing our semi-monthly payroll reports. The role requires exceptional organizational skills and efficient administrative capabilities.In this role, you will report to the Director of Finance and work in a cross-functional manner with others at Kasa. You will play a critical role in building a market-leading, financial reporting department to service Kasa's rapid growth across multiple asset classes and geographies. It takes a special person to succeed in this role and we hope you are excited by the challengeResponsibilitiesPartner with the Payroll Specialist to process end-to-end payroll, including tax changes, deductions, retro pay, bonuses, and off-cycle adjustments. Serve as backup to process payroll when the Payroll Specialist is on leaveManage federal, state, and local payroll compliance, including tax registrations, filings, quarterly employment tax reconciliations, and responding to agency noticesManage state-specific leave programs (e.g., Family and Medical Leave) and workers' compensation, and bi-monthly 401k loan administrationsSupport the month-end close by preparing payroll-related reports and accounting entries, calculating allocated costs, and reconciling payroll balance sheet reconciliationsEnsure accurate onboarding of new hires in ADP with correct allocations and GL codingConduct monthly payroll audits to confirm accuracy of pay registers, taxes, 401(k), overtime, holiday pay, and bonus tax ratesCollaborate with People Operations to address employee payroll questions and ensure timely, accurate processing of updatesAdvise People Ops on payroll best practices in partnership with our payroll providerManage year-end payroll tasks, including W-2s, financial audits, and 401k auditsIdentify and implement payroll process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives.Unleash your career potential at KasaWe're building a tech-enabled global hospitality brand that unleashes the potential of liveable space. Hospitality is at the core of who we are, and we are committed to providing our teams the same care we give our guests, neighbors, and partners.Required Attributes3–5 years of full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing experience, ideally in a high-growth or hospitality environmentBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field requiredStrong knowledge of payroll compliance: federal, state, and local taxes, service charges, tip reporting, and leave lawsProficient with ADP Workforce Now, Netsuite, Excel, and Google Suite; able to troubleshoot and automate workflowsSolid understanding of payroll accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and cost allocations to support month-end closeStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail and a sense of urgency around deadlinesHighly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-changing environmentCommunicates payroll and accounting concepts clearly across technical and non-technical teamsA team player who values collaboration, continuous improvement, and confidentiality in handling sensitive dataWant to learn more about the Kasa experience?
