Diesel Technician

Hours: 8 p.m.-4 a.m.

Pay: $35/hr.

Job Summary: As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components. This includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring our vehicles and equipment are operating efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and related components.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on diesel vehicles and equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify problems.
Replace or repair faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification as a Diesel Technician or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job will involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, dust/dirt and exhaust fumes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods;
Must be able to lift and move inventory items and other work-related items (up to 50 pounds);
Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods;
Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, lift, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, climb steps, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, all of this for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the day.
