Senior Tax Manager, CPA (Full-Time, Remote, USA) Gelt is a tech‑driven tax company providing premium tax solutions for closely‑held businesses, high‑net‑worth individuals, and investors. Our goal is to optimize clients’ taxes and ensure compliance by leveraging a proprietary technology platform and a team of expert tax professionals. Responsibilities Research and Analysis: Delve into complex tax topics, stay updated with the latest regulations, and provide authoritative advice on hard tax subjects. Review and Quality Control: Examine intricate tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimal tax positions before filing. Team Support: Act as the primary technical resource for the tax team, addressing inquiries and guiding complex client scenarios. Continued Education: Keep current with evolving tax landscape, including rulings, legislation, and best practices. Documentation: Record research findings, create internal best practices, and assist with training materials. Client Consultation: Occasionally meet with high‑profile or complex clients to discuss tax situations, offer advice, and ensure satisfaction. Tax Modeling and Automation: Design tax models based on current regulations and tax strategies; collaborate with R&D to integrate models into software. Software Testing: Assess and validate tax software, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and functionality; provide feedback and improvement recommendations. Qualifications 8+ years of experience with S‑Corporations (1120S), partnerships (1065), and individuals (1040) – primarily in professional services, technology, and financial services. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation. CPA or tax attorney license. Sound knowledge of direct tax law. Ability to simplify and optimize complex processes. Enjoys a fast‑paced startup environment. Nice to have: experience with corporations (1120), estate planning, trusts, gifts. Nice to have: PE and VC funds experience.
