## Hospitalist### Category:Lincoln Hospital### Department:Acute Care/Transitional Care Units### Status:Full Time### Description:The Hospitalist will provide high-quality, comprehensive care to hospitalized patients, focusing on inpatient and transitional care medical management. As part of an interdisciplinary team, the Hospitalist will work closely with specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the best possible care during their hospital stay.**Key Responsibilities:*** **Patient Care:**+ Provide primary medical care to hospitalized patients across a range of medical conditions.+ Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for inpatients, transitional, swing, and long-term patients.+ Monitor and adjust treatment regimens based on patient progress and evolving conditions.+ Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies.+ Coordinate and collaborate with specialists and other departments to manage patient care.+ Ensure smooth transitions of care between inpatient, outpatient, and rehabilitation settings.* **Clinical Responsibilities:**+ Manage medical admissions, including history taking, physical examination, and creation of care plans.+ Respond to medical emergencies, including rapid response teams and codes.+ Obtain consultative services for various specialties.+ Supervise other healthcare providers when applicable.+ Ensure appropriate documentation of all medical assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR).* **Quality and Safety:**+ Maintain high standards of clinical practice to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.+ Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.+ Stay current with best practices and evidence-based medicine.* **Collaboration & Communication:**+ Work effectively with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and hospital administration.+ Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families, providing updates on diagnosis, treatment plans, and prognosis.+ Provide education to patients and families about disease processes, medications, and recovery plans.* **Administrative Duties:**+ Ensure timely and accurate completion of patient charts, progress notes, and discharge summaries.+ Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and continuing medical education (CME).+ Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.**Qualifications:*** **Education & Training:**+ Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.+ Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.* **Licensing & Certifications:**+ Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.+ Active medical license in the state of Washington+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.* **Experience:**+ Previous experience as a Hospitalist or in an inpatient clinical setting is preferred.+ Experience in managing critically ill patients, including those with complex comorbidities.+ Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients* **Skills & Abilities:**+ Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.+ Proficiency in the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR).+ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.### Job Location:On-Site### Posted:Friday, January 3, 2025### Closing:Open until filled
