You’ll collaborate with the Income/Franchise Tax team and lead staff on various tax consulting and research matters, on all phases of project and engagement management, because together is how we succeed.From day one, you’ll be empowered by high quality tools and resources to thrive in your role to meet client needs and help you achieve more, confidently.Your day-to-day may include:Respond to inquiries from the State and other tax authoritiesLead a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management, to gather information and perform tax servicesLead team members to promptly resolve client problems or tax issues encountered in the preparation processUnderstand client operations, processes, and business objectives, and utilize that knowledge on engagementsAttend professional development and training sessions on a regular basisSenior Managers will oversee numerous client projects and tasks simultaneouslyLead professional development and training sessions on a regular basisBusiness Development – lead sales presentations for both existing and prospective clientsOther duties as assignedYou have the following technical skills and qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accountingMinimum ten years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consultingCPA, JD, or Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSenior Managers are required to manage various project tasks, at the same timeProject managers will be ultimately responsible for the overall project and deliverableSupport business development activities, such as identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities at clientsStrong computer skillsCan travel as neededThe base salary range for this position in New York only is between $172,800 and $259,200.About UsAt Grant Thornton, we believe in making business more personal and building trust into every result – for our clients and you.
