POSTED: February 26, 2025BUSINESS: SaabPOSITION TYPE: Full-timeSTART DATE: Immediate Availability Job Description: As Saab continues to grow its state‑of‑the‑art, advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, we are seeking a Structural Assembly Supervisor to join our team, to help build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force new military trainer, the T-7A Red Hawk. We are looking for a driven leader that is passionate about teamwork and creating value in our production operation. We are looking for a candidate to work closely with the Production Manager and other Production Supervisors to accomplish the goals set for the production team and overall organization. Responsibilities will include: Supervise and lead Structural Assembly in daily production activities Clearly communicate daily production goals Report out on structural assembly operations Ensure efficient daily operations of the advanced manufacturing operation Consistently demonstrate and uphold our Company values: Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support Champion a positive and high‑performance work culture Mentor the team and provide training and coaching to improve performance Hold employees accountable to established work processes and work rules Empower work teams to align to production KPI’s and overall business goals Facilitate the recruiting, selection, and training of new team members for their area Monitor work quality to consistently deliver exceptional customer service Demonstrate an understanding of the company policies and local work rules, including safety, quality and FOD prevention Adhere to the Saab 6S program and maintain a clean environment at all times Communicate and collaborate effectively with management, team members and support roles Oversee and approve work hours for production team on a daily and weekly basis Other tasks as assigned by Manager Compensation Range: $78,900 - $98,600 The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate’s work experience, key skills, and education/training. Skills and Experience: 5+ years of supervision in a manufacturing environment is required, experience in advanced manufacturing is a plus Experience supervising in an aerospace manufacturing environment is a strong plus Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Aeronautics, or a related field preferred Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment is desirable Experience using MES and ERP systems is a plus Proven ability to work effectively across functional departments, and achieve alignment on goals Ability to lead by example, building positive and productive work relationships Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed to meet customer timelines. Excellent communication and team collaboration skills. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
