Our client has been an industry leader for over 60 years as a one‑stop shop for diverse plastic services such as pulverizing, compounding, warehousing, packing, rail car storage and bulk transportation transloads. The customers are plastic distribution companies, plastic molders (rotational molders), and plastic resin producers. Two locations blanket the Midwest, and their products are sold throughout the US and Canada.They are looking for a strong plant manager position to lead the Minnesota facility in Bloomington, MN. The position reports to the CEO and directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for compounding extrusion, pulverizing production, maintenance, quality, safety, rail switches, the warehouse shipping and receiving, capital expenditures, hiring and training, and other relevant activities.Bloomington, MN $165,000.00‑$180,000.00ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the overall profitability of the plantDirect and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.Coordinate plant activities through planning with department leaders to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost‑effective manner.Manage inventory to losses of 1% or less of all incoming materials.Oversee performance management, hiring and safety for 30+ employees in two buildings.Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.Implement cost‑effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.Manage capital asset maintenance.Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, safety and quality standards.Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.Provide direction, development and leadership to production leaders.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and a minimum of five (5) years production management experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience in plastics compounding, pulverizing, or warehousing.Change agent that is able to gain buy‑in from all levels within the organization.Previous experience managing budgets for production/manufacturing facility.Experienced leading both employees and supervisors, hiring, terminating and managing performance standards.Strong follow‑up skills and self‑driven to initiate change.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Physical Demands and BenefitsBoth office and manufacturing plant environment.Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally.Able to sit, stand, reach, bend, stand for up to 8 hours.Highly subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance.Company match for Health Savings Account (HSA) – $500 individual and $1,000 for families.One week of vacation earned in the first year, two weeks from years 1 – 5, three weeks from years 6 – 15, and so on.401K with up to 4% of your pay (at 6% contribution) for which you are immediately vested.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionManagement and Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
