Senior Financial Analyst – Utility Asset Accounting This role provides assistance to a team of analysts that deliver financial analysis and reporting support for the Capital and Asset Reporting and Analytics function within Asset Accounting. The analyst ensures accounting meets FERC, GAAP and state requirements and analyzes complex capital and asset accounting matters. Base Pay: $60.00/hr – $65.00/hr (W2 contract; no PTO or benefits) Responsibilities Prepare balance sheet and income statement variance analysis (AFUDC and depreciation). Prepare financial schedules required for SEC reporting. Analyze application of AFUDC on capital projects. Support analysis of depreciation calculations. Prepare and coordinate data requests and quarterly/annual FERC filings. Provide financial, accounting, and business management analytical support to management. Lead and coordinate special projects and data requests. Work with auditors, providing necessary information. Maintain knowledge of accounting policies and impacts. Champion process improvements in accounting processes. Possible overtime during closing processes. Basic Qualifications Fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures. Experience with financial applications (PeopleSoft FMIS, Power Plant, etc.) and query tools (WebI). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Desired Qualifications CPA, CPA candidate, or graduate degree in Accounting or related field. 7+ years of complex experience in related field. Experience with monthly close process, general accounting, and financial reporting (FERC/GAAP). Experience in utility asset or regulatory accounting. Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills. Familiarity with capital project and asset accounting concepts. Experience with financial systems: OneStream, WebI, PeopleSoft, Power Plan. Experience with regulatory accounting and rate‑making concepts. Leadership and mentoring experience. Process improvement experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
