OverviewUW Medical Center-Montlake - Neurological Surgery Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for an Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). Department: Neurological Surgery Clinic, UW Medical Center-Montlake. Work Schedule7 days on, followed by 7 days off12 hour day shifts Monday-Friday, and 10 hour day shifts on Saturday and SundayPosition HighlightsProvide neurosurgical services in an inpatient settingWork alongside attending physicians, fellows, and residents across the Neurological Surgery continuum of carePrimary Job ResponsibilitiesInpatient ResponsibilitiesParticipates in daily morning and afternoon roundsProvides daily care, which includes evaluating and managing patients, writing daily progress notes, and formulating/implementing plansCoordinates patient care with other services (endocrinology, internal medicine, neurology, ENT, ID)May perform the following procedures: lumbar punctures, drain removal (Subgaleal, JP, Hemovac), external ventricular drain placement and removal, lumbar drain placement and removal, shunt/Ommaya tapping, nasal endoscopyAdditional ResponsibilitiesAttends monthly Quality Improvement (QI) meetings and participates in ongoing QI research and projectsPartakes in monthly case presentations and journal clubs that are led by the APP with Physician supportProvides clinical mentoring to APP students and internsAttends team educational conferences (M&M, surgical grand rounds, tumor boards)RequirementsCurrent and valid Washington State ARNP licensure or Physician Assistant licensureGraduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or an accredited Physician Assistant ProgramDEA prescriptive authorityBLSACLSPrevious neurosurgery experience preferredCompensation and BenefitsPay Range Minimum: $135,996.00 annualPay Range Maximum: $206,556.00 annualOther Compensation: $10,000 Sign-On Bonus (for eligible new employees); Weekend premium - $4.00/hourBenefits: For information about benefits, visit UW benefits siteShift and Employment DetailsShift: First Shift (United States of America)Temporary or Regular: Regular positionFTE: 100.00%Union/Bargaining Unit: Not ApplicableAbout UW MedicineUW Medicine is Washington’s health system that includes a medical school and research center.
