OverviewSenior Medical Science Liaison, Dermatology (Ohio/West Virginia) – Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines is recruiting for a Senior Medical Science Liaison, Immunology to be based in the Ohio/West Virginia territory.About Immunology: Our team develops transformational medicines for immunological disorders and illnesses. The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) is responsible for providing fair, balanced, objective, scientific information and education to opinion leaders, health care professionals, and internal partners as required by scientific and business needs. The Sr. MSL builds external relationships, develops a territory plan, and advances educational activities with identified leaders, institutions, and community practices. This is a field-based role requiring travel, primarily within the assigned geography, with travel estimated at 80%.Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicineResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing and maintaining a field strategic plan.Responds in a timely manner to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, health care systems, and population health decision makers, integrating scientific data including real-world evidence into practice to meet customer needs.Presents data and information in a manner appropriate to the audience and request.Executes plans regarding reactive and proactive outreaches as approved via the legal/HCC exceptions process.Integrates scientific data into real-life practice to meet customer/audience needs, adapting interpersonal style to the situation and people.Anticipates the responses of various individuals and teams based on their vantage point and perspective.Prioritizes franchise customer-based initiatives and field responsibilities while balancing administrative duties and project responsibilities.Executes Research InitiativesLeverages knowledge of standards of care and Janssen company/investigator-sponsored clinical trials and the competitor landscape to facilitate external-internal research communication.Engages with external investigators regarding unsolicited research inquiries and acts as liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs, and operations teams.Provides clinical trial support to identify potential sites, resolve issues with enrolled sites, and participate in meetings as appropriate, including site initiation visits and investigator launch meetings.Effectively leads at least one scientific or strategic Immunology project, identifies educational gaps, and elevates team acumen.Strong Scientific AcumenParticipates in team calls, trainings, and journal clubs, understanding current standard of care, and regularly shares scientific news.Attends and provides leadership at scientific conferences to gather and understand new scientific information relevant to the company and the external scientific community.Medical insights: listens for, documents, and shares medical insights; synthesizes data and medical insights for MSL team and other partners.Dedicated to self-driven learning on the current scientific landscape.Represents and supports JNJ at relevant scientific or key stakeholder meetings (congresses, symposia, advisory boards, investigator meetings) and at speaking engagements.Department Operations And Internal PartnersPerforms all administrative requirements in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner (e.g., expense reports, documentation of activities).Maintains focus and composure in uncertain circumstances with minimal direction.Provides regional and local support to enhance sales training initiatives and improve competencies of field personnel.Communicates and collaborates with all field-based partners and other Immunology MSL teams regularly.Demonstrates ability to partner with others to lead or participate in large-scale projects.Maintains thorough understanding and competence in regulatory and health care compliance guidelines, corporate policies on ethical conduct, and Medical Affairs SOPs and guidelines.QualificationsPharmD, PhD, MD or other advanced medical degree; NP, PA with +3 years relevant TA clinical experience.3+ years of MSL experience, and/or 3+ years of relevant work experience (clinical, research, or related pharma work).Significant experience giving presentations.Ability to travel up to 75-80% including overnight and some weekend commitments.A valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.Reside within the defined assigned territory.PreferredKnowledge or experience in the relevant therapeutic area and/or Immunology.Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and remote collaboration tools.Reside in or near the designated territory, preferably near Cincinnati or Columbus, OH.The expected base pay range for this position is $137,000 to $235,750. This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s Fleet program and annual performance bonus, subject to terms of applicable plans.Employee benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans as described by company policy.
