OverviewThe Store Manager In Training (MIT) is a leadership role responsible for supervising store operations, coaching employees, and ensuring customer service and store standards are met. This description reflects the general qualifications, duties, and responsibilities for the position.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities And SkillsLeadership and Management: Recruit, hire and train employees; develop, assign tasks to ensure the site is clean, stocked, organized and maintained to Company standards; maintain a professional image among staff and management; schedule employees to maximize customer service and site image; apply non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, motivating and separating employees. Site Relationships: Develop positive relationships with suppliers; promote excellent service and resolve customer complaints promptly; foster a safe, positive public image within the community. Training and Development: Provide ongoing performance feedback in writing; train employees to meet customer service, site image and marketing standards; train on safety procedures and promote safety awareness. Communication: Ensure timely and effective communication with all employees; establish periodic meetings with site staff and the Market Manager.

Organizing and Planning: Develop action plans to meet site objectives; organize and maintain site files and manuals; manage reporting accuracy and timeliness; ensure merchandise is stocked, displayed attractively and priced correctly; ensure required employment posters are accessible. Financial: Analyze daily sales and expenses to maximize sales and profits; budget and forecast P&L lines; safeguard and account for all money handled; perform related financial analyses as needed. Working Conditions: Perform most work indoors with some outdoor tasks (e.g., parking lot and maintenance); occasional exposure to cold temperatures in walk-in coolers/freezers; occasional noise; operate with a high degree of independence as an effective manager and leader. QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

in retail sales preferred.

Experience

performing essential duties and working under described conditions. Ability to supervise and train on use of equipment and materials described for CSR and ASM roles; ability to supervise and manage corresponding functions. Ability to use a computer (or learn) for reports, inventory control, cash control, counseling notices, etc. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from bank and management meetings.

Ability to communicate (oral and written) in English. Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by supervisor. Working ConditionsPrimarily indoors with occasional outdoor work required for maintenance tasks. Possible exposure to cold temperatures in walk-in coolers/freezers; occasional exposure to noise.

Operate with minimal supervision while acting as an effective manager, supervisor and leader.
