We're hiring a general carpenter for one-of-a-kind, high-end residential projects. Dowbuilt carpenters have mid-to-advanced level carpentry skills and at least four years' experience in the industry. This position offers an opportunity to be a part of one-of-a-kind, architecturally significant builds and grow their career alongside colleagues who are dedicated to the highest levels of craftsmanship and quality.WHAT YOU'LL DOAs a general carpenter, you'll be responsible for:Performing and assisting with general carpentry tasks including but not limited to:Structural wood/steel framingSiding, window, and door installationHardware prep and installationSite cleanup/protectionEstablishing and maintaining work task deadlines with the superintendent or foremanSupporting subcontractors as directed by the superintendent or foremanWorking well and coordinating with other team membersIdentifying when other workers or subcontractors are not working in a safe manner and reporting unsafe practices to the foreman or superintendentWHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDTo be successful as a Dowbuilt carpenter, you'll need:4+ years of high-end residential carpentry experienceThe following skills:Broad range of rough carpentry skills from framing up to finish work (finish skills are a huge plus)Working with full complement of basic tools and specialty toolsLaying out and setting concrete formsReading and interpreting architectural drawingsWork at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weatherEstimating and communicating small material needs to superintendent or foremanFamiliarity with a variety of building materialsKnowledge of safety and health procedures for location (ongoing training will be provided)Knowledge of proper use of tools and equipmentExcellent communication, team-building, and mentoring skillsAbility to anticipate and troubleshoot problemsAbility to follow direction and perform work as designatedMotivation, dependability, and trustworthinessU.S. work authorizationWHAT WE OFFERWe are a fun, easygoing bunch of professionals who take a lot of pride in the work we do.
