Description
Position purpose
Medical Assistant for full time Biologic Coordinator. This position is to coordinate the specialty medications. This includes ordering medication, prior authorizations, patient education, in office injections, and all duties necessary to manage the patients who are on specialty medications. EMR experience preferred.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Complete all paperwork to expedite medication.
- Work closely with pharmacies and insurance companies.
- Complete documentation and communications in EHR.
- Efficient in EMA tasking.
- Knowledge of CPT codes.
- Extensive knowledge with Prior Authorizations.
- Full documentation with all communications.
- Knowledge of Next Gen scheduling.
- Educate patients and respond the patients concerns promptly
- Contact patient with updated status or delays.
- Attention to detail, self-starter.
Qualifications
Education: Certification preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.)
Experience: Minimum two years experience in a doctors office. Dermatology knowledge preferred with background in Biologics.
Other Requirements: Strong phone etiquette.
Performance Requirements:
- Quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
- Knowledgeable of Biologics and Prior Authorizations.
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients and co-workers alike.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the providers instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
