CULTIVATE A BETTER WORLD Food served fast does not have to be a typical fast‑food experience. Chipotle has always done things differently, both in and out of our restaurants. We are changing the face of fast food, starting conversations, and directly supporting efforts to shift the future of farming and food. We hope you will join us as we continue to learn, evolve, and shape what comes next on our mission to make better food accessible to everyone. THE OPPORTUNITY The Vice President of Facilities is responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of all facility‑related functions for ~4,000 fast casual restaurant locations across the United States. This leader will revolutionize and rethink how we approach facilities and maintenance—bringing innovation and modern technology to manage existing restaurants and instituting a seamless, end‑to‑end process between restaurant operators and facility maintenance. The role ensures that all restaurants operate in safe, clean, efficient, and brand‑compliant environment, while optimizing maintenance costs, supporting remodel and new build programs, and driving sustainability initiatives. The VP will oversee a large team and partner closely with Operations, Development, Procurement, and Finance to deliver exceptional facility support that protects brand integrity and enables operational excellence. What You’ll Do Strategic Leadership Establish policies, processes, and metrics for preventive maintenance, repair, and asset lifecycle management. Drive innovation in facilities management, leveraging technology, data analytics, and vendor partnerships; reimagine the operating model, org design, and processes to deliver a seamless operator–facilities experience. Operations & Maintenance Lead all aspects of facility maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and building envelope. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and ADA regulations across all locations. Design and implement an intuitive, mobile‑first work order, communication, and dispatch process that creates a frictionless interface between restaurant operators and facilities, with clear SLAs and accountability. Deploy technology‑enabled maintenance practices (e.g., CMMS utilization, remote monitoring, IoT/predictive maintenance where applicable) to boost uptime and speed to resolution. Respond quickly to critical facility emergencies and ensure business continuity. Capital Projects & Renovations Partner with Development and Construction teams to plan and execute remodels, retrofits, and brand refresh programs. Manage capital expenditure budgets and timelines for facility upgrades and refurbishments. Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance management for facility services and contractors. Sustainability & Energy Management Lead initiatives to reduce energy and water consumption, lower carbon footprint, and optimize waste management. Implement energy‑efficient systems and sustainable building practices across the portfolio. Financial Management Develop and manage annual facilities operating and capital budgets exceeding $110 million. Optimize spend through vendor negotiations, preventive maintenance, and strategic sourcing. Track, analyze, and report on key facilities performance indicators. Team Leadership Lead, develop, and mentor a geographically dispersed team, including directors, regional managers, and specialists. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Build cross‑functional relationships to ensure alignment with restaurant operations. What You’ll Bring To The Table Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred). 12+ years of progressive facilities management leadership experience in a multi‑unit retail, hospitality, or restaurant environment; QSR experience strongly preferred. Proven track record of managing large‑scale facility portfolios (1,000+ locations) and complex budgets. Strong vendor management, contract negotiation, and project management skills. Knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and regulatory compliance. Experience implementing sustainability programs and facility technology platforms (e.g., CMMS systems). Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills. Ability to develop long‑term strategies while delivering day‑to‑day operational excellence. Prioritizes the needs of restaurant operations and guest experience. Travel Up to 50% travel to restaurant locations, vendor sites, and industry events. Pay Transparency Base salary range: $225,000–$275,000, plus annual cash bonuses and equity awards based on performance.
