Engineering Lab Technician

The Engineering Lab Technician will support the Engineering department in developing and testing thermal management products, such as enclosure air conditioners, heat exchangers, blowers, and other refrigeration/cooling products. The Lab Technician will be using our environmental chambers to test prototype products to ensure that they meet the client's specifications and to test and improve existing products. This position will also serve as a support to our production and servicing departments as needed.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test prototype units to UL standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical product inefficiencies.
- Record data from product testing to measure against specifications and establish product standards.
- Ensure lab equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- HVAC/electrical trade school and HVAC certification strongly preferred.
- EPA 608 Certified Technician Type 1 required.
- Experience with refrigeration systems preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong computer and data entry skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and pressurized equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; communicate regularly with designers, engineers, and other team members.
- Diagnostic and problem solving skills.
- Brazing skills a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
