Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Direct Buyer to join our team and play a critical role in managing procurement processes, contracts, and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) procurement regulations, FAR/DFAR requirements, and Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) audits. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to DoD procurement regulations, including FAR and DFAR.
  • Manage and prepare for CPSR audits as part of a Defense contractor environment.
  • Contracting and Logistics:
  • Oversee international contracting processes and logistics operations.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Integrated Project Support:
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the integrated project team, supporting program management, engineering, and suppliers.
  • Align procurement activities with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and ensure deliverables are achieved within budget constraints.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Jennifer and other team members, to streamline procurement and contracting processes.
  • Support program management in aligning supplier deliverables with overall project goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement, contracting, or related fields.
  • Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of DoD procurement regulations (FAR/DFAR).
  • Knowledge of CPSR requirements and Defense contractor purchasing systems.
  • Experience with international contracting and logistics.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in managing supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to adhere to IMS timelines and budgets.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, engineering, and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hybrid onsite environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to procurement and logistics.
